AYODHYA: Founder of Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Thursday said ''gigantic issues like the Ayodhya controversy could be resolved only through mutual love and feeling of respect for each other''.
The spiritual leader, who arrived here on a two-day visit, observed:''Because of gross neglect of the Deokali temple whose presiding deity was worshipped by Lord Rama Himself, the problems relating to Ayodhya have sprung up.''
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was speaking to reporters before going to the banks of River Saryu, where he was accorded a warm welcome by a large congregation of his disciples.
VHP leader Ashok Singhal and former BJP MP Swami Chinmayananda were amongst those who welcomed the spiritual leader at Deokali temple.
Later, he dedicated the temple sarovar, renovated recently with the help received from his disciples. He will be visiting the Ram Janambhoomi temple complex on Friday morning to offer prayers to Ram Lalla. He will also participate in the mahachandi yagya at Deokali, scheduled for Friday forenoon.
Former commissioner of Faizabad division SP Singh, who is coordinating the spiritual leaders' visit to the temple town, said ''Swamiji's motto'' was to inculcate love in everyone with shrishti. This, in turn, would bring gyan to everyone, he said.
